Aaryn, Aaryn, Aaryn… What have you done?
This pretty little Texan has made a BIG name for herself but in all the wrong ways. She has pretty much, after only being on TV for 1 week, angered the entire nation by spewing derogatory comments about her gay, black, and Asian roommates. Truly UNBELIEVABLE! Is she really THAT STUPID? How can she possibly think what she thinks and says is acceptable? Many people are saying it is because she is young and probably un-experienced living with diverse strangers, but is it possible she doesn’t understand that millions of people are watching every move and listening to every word she says and that she may be offending them? People are so angry with her they have even created an online petition asking CBS BIG BROTHER PRODUCERS to remove her from the game. As of this post, 4,239 people have signed the petition. Furthermore, she has also been released from her modeling contract with Zephyr Talent. This is what Zephr posted on their facebook yesterday:
Aaryn, season 15 cast member of Big Brother, revealed prejudices and other beliefs that we (Zephyr Talent) do not condone. We certainly find the statements made by Aaryn on the live Internet feed to be offensive. Any views or opinions expressed in personal commentary by Aaryn, either on any live feed from the House or during the broadcast, are hers alone and do not represent the views or opinions of Zephyr Talent. Upon much consideration, we have decided to release Aaryn from her contract with Zephyr Talent.
and 10 hours later posted this:
Zephyr Talent appreciates the overwhelming support of our difficult decision to release Aaryn Elizabeth Gries from her contract. We wish Aaryn the best of luck in her future endeavors, and recognize that while not everyone will support our decision, we feel that this is in the best interest of our other clients and our company. Zephyr Talent fully supports free speech, but we also know that free speech does not mean free of consequences. Zephyr Talent, as a company, has always and will continue to be strong supporters of the LGBT community, and we celebrate all races, religions and cultures. While we disagree with Aaryn’s statements, we defend her right to make them; however, due to their direct conflict with many of the values we hold at Zephyr, we cannot continue to allow her to represent our company, nor do we feel comfortable representing her. We feel certain that there will be other agencies which will have no conflict representing her, and wish her nothing but the best. Any future comments or questions regarding Aaryn Elizabeth should be sent directly to her Facebook page. Comments or questions regarding Big Brother 15 should be directed to CBS.
I truly feel sorry for her friends & family because I suspect they are deeply affected by her actions. What do you all think CBS Big Brother should do about it?
